"Amazing location, beautiful cottages, fantastic service"
Recently booked for our wedding weekend so was able to have all our family and close friends around us. Beautifully decorated, comfortable set of 5 cottages with all mod cons. We loved this location and the help/advise from the owners made for a smooth running few days. Cant fault it at all, and will definitely book again.
"Total relaxation"
Stayed here in The Barn for 5 nights over the August Bank Holiday. A wonderful location down a country track away from the road with views over fields yet only a short drive from Chichester or the shingle beaches at Felpham. Our dog Freckles was welcomed and she had a great time. It helped that the weather was wonderful with sunshine every day. There was a fantastic sundeck and a nice private lawn. Inside, the kitchen/living area was very spacious. We were well looked after by Steve who met us on arrival and was always on hand to deal with any questions. We would definitely go back again.
"Highly Recommended"
Located off the beaten track but central for many trips around West Sussex. This is our second year this time staying in The Barn which was just at beautifully kept as The Garden Room which we were in last year. We spent a lovely sunny week here with our friends from "The North" who had never been to The South Downs before and loved it. Jo, the owner is so welcoming, the cottages are immaculately kept, very comfortable beds with top quality linen and towels. Each cottage benefits from it's own private outdoor space and there is plenty of car parking. There's lots to see and do in this outstanding area all within easy reach. We enjoyed a second trip to Arundel castle, a visit to Brighton, some stunning walks around both sides of the estuary and a stroll around Chichester itself which is only a 10 minute drive away (a pie from Turners Pie shop is a must). The Gribble Inn just a short trip down the road at Oving serves its own Real Ale and good food. I would thoroughly recommend Flintstone cottages and we look forward to returning next year!
"Very relaxing!"
We stayed for 5 nights over the August Bank Holiday weekend. The Barn is in a fantastic position with a huge deck and a private lawn. Our dog loved it. The bed was very comfortable and the living accommodation was also comfortable and spacious. We had wonderful weather and had planned on having long lovely days in the sun, which we did. It is South facing so we had the sun all day. My only comment would be that we would have liked to have had some reclining chairs or sunbeds given the class of the accommodation. There was a nice wooden table and chairs on the deck but nothing you could lie on to just relax and soak up the rays. Steve, who seems to do most of the cleaning, gardening etc was brilliant and was always there with advice or a helping hand when you needed it. The rooms were spotless and well looked after. All in all we had a fantastic time and definitely recharged our batteries!
"A perfect base for exploring the Chichester area"
This was our first visit to the Chichester area and we wanted to see, amongst other things, the Cathedral, the Festival Theatre, the Pallant House Gallery, Fishbourne Palace and the whole harbour area. We weren't disappointed. The Barn was a perfect base for our four days, being only a few miles from everything. It was very well appointed and comfortable, with all the facilities we needed and the support we got from Steve and Jo couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. We would certainly go back for a short stay and it would be great for a family for a longer holiday too.
"Perfect for our short break in the Chichester area"
A pleasant well equipped cottage, a very friendly welcome from our hosts and an ideal location a few miles from the many attractions in Chichester and the harbour area. Couldn't be better.
"Comfortable and well-equipped"
We stayed at The Barn. Very comfortable and well-equipped. 2 double bedrooms (one in the open loft) had comfy mattresses and good-quality bedding. Bathroom is spacious and modern with an excellent shower. Open plan living, dining and kitchen a very large space with everything we needed. The outside decking area with table and chairs is private and large. Owner Jo and Steve were extremely helpful - nothing seemed too much trouble. The standard of the accommodation is very high with real attention to detail.
"Beautiful with a lot of character"
The Barn is beautiful. I stayed here for my sister's hen weekend. It has a lot of character. It was spotlessly clean and maintained to a high standard. I would recommend this property to everyone.
"Beautiful barn"
I booked the barn along with the cottage for 14 of us to celebrate my sister's hen weekend. The barn is decorated to a high standard. It was spotless and has such a great character. The stained glass window from Diana Dors bathroom is stunning. From making a booking enquiry and arriving Jo was very helpful. I definitely recommend this property and I hope to stay here again in the future.
"Incredibly high standard"
We stayed in the Barn for a long weekend with mates. The accommodation was of an incredibly high standard, exceptionally clean and perfectly located. We are currently planning another long weekend next year.
"Fantastic weekend away!"
These beautiful holiday homes are set in a quiet, peaceful setting and yet are very close to Chichester. We stayed in The Barn, which has been converted to a very high standard with much attention to detail. Everything about the property is comfortable from the beds, the relaxing bath, the spacious warm shower, the comfortable corner sofa and the wood burner which was particularly welcome during a cold, wet weekend. Jo, the owner, is very friendly but not intrusive. Everything you would need for time away is provided - even down to small things like matches, washing up liquid and dishwasher tablets. We could have even helped ourselves to more logs if we had needed them! We would definitely recommend this holiday home to others and hope to return ourselves in the future.
"Autumn Break"
Greeted on arrival by cheerful and helpful Steve. The neatly kept grounds were an overture to the clean, modern and adequately equipped Barn. The bed was comfortable and the property warm and inviting on the chilly evenings. Roll on our next visit. Thanks Steve & Jo.
"Fantastic!!!"
2nd time of staying in the Barn and it's simply wonderful. A great location where you feel you are away from it all, even its only a 10min run into town and import slyly for us, to Goodwood as we use the Barn as a base for visiting the revival. The Barn is very well equipped, comfortably sleeps 4 in 1 room and a mezzanine and is very comfortable to sit in the evening either on the veranda or in the lounge area. Jo is a wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble. I would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a little bit of luxury, away from the crowd but accessible to the SW area and all it has to offer. You will not find a better self-catering set up!
"Wonderful place"
Stayed at the Barn recently and would recommend this accommodation to anyone. Warm welcome from Steve, friendly relaxed and tranquil atmosphere with assistance if we needed it, Jo and Steve are lovely. The barn itself is a very pleasant well equipped space, comfortable, clean, modern. The properties are charming in rural surroundings. Well kept gardens, all areas well cared for. The property is also situated in a convenient area for travel to many places, it's near Chichester, Arundel etc, which are lovely place's and well worth a visit. Myself and my family would not hesitate to stay here again.
"Comfortable and well equipped"
We reserved 4 properties at Flintstones Cottages for ourselves, members of our family, and friends on the occasion of our daughter's wedding, which was taking place at Upwaltham Barns in the same locality. All of the properties at Flintstones are beautifully finished and very well equipped. The Barn has 2 bedrooms with the option of an additional 2 people sleeping on a large sofa bed in the lounge. The property is atmospheric, with a high beamed ceiling in the large living room which has a wood burning stove. Jo the owner and Steve could not have been more helpful. We had 2 BBQ's during our stay for approx 40 wedding guests who had travelled from out of town and there was ample space to accommodate all of our guests and their cars. I would not hesitate to recommend any of the properties at Flintstones. It offers flexible self-catering accommodation to the highest standard in a beautiful area.
"Perfect"
Great cottage and location. Well equipped and immaculately clean! Definitely one to recommend and return to.
"Excellent stay"
We stayed in the one bedroom Garden Room apartment. It was very well appointed and had everything we needed for our 5 night stay. We especially loved the very comfortable bed, the best we have ever had in a holiday cottage by far. The Wi-Fi was fast and efficient . Overall it was a great stay and we can highly recommend Flintstone Cottages.
"Perfect place to stay!"
The accommodation was exceptional, great attention to detail in not just the decor and cleanliness, but all of the facilities. Highlights were the huge walk in shower, luxury large bath (no taps on the end so great for a couple!) Roaring fire on colder nights my husband loved doing the 'man thing of making fire' plenty of logs provided, with huge comfortable sofas to laze on. Gorgeous comfortable bed, slept soundly and this is no mean feat for me The kitchen is equipped superbly if you want to cook and Jo the owner recommended the local Indian takeaway who deliver if you don't. The Barn is set in a beautiful area, off the beaten track which makes it tranquil. I had read that the local train goes by, it did not disturb me once and I am a very light sleeper. There were just the two of us staying and if you like space like we do, it is a superb space. The Diana Dors window, is beautiful just adding to the special ambience.
"Excelled Expectations"
We chose The Barn for a long overdue return visit from our home in Antigua to be close to family and friends and had previously owned a barn in Hampshire where we lived for many years and hoped this would rekindle many happy memories, which it did to excess!!! The weather was considerably cooler than we have in the Caribbean, but we were warm and cosy and even tropical when the wood burning stove was alight thanks to an abundance of fuel provided by Jo!!! My husband was in his element, thought he was back in the New Forest. The Barn is well equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay and Jo thoughtfully provided us with additional seating etc. when family and friends came to visit us. Jo was very helpful in giving us advice on restaurants and pubs and places of interest and the location was ideal for visiting shops, supermarkets sightseeing. Goodwood is close by and we hope to return in the future when there is an event at the circuit or Goodwood House. We would highly recommend staying here for its peaceful and tranquil location and quality contemporary design, the stained glass window from Diana Dor's house added to the effect. Well done Jo, we will be back!!
"Fabulous barn conversion!"
Jo and Steve were very welcoming on arrival and had left really useful things, like milk, in the fridge. The space itself is stunning, with a galleried living/dining/ kitchen and a cosy bedroom on the mezzanine. The separate double is spacious and looks out onto what would be really nice decking in the summer. We were staying for a wedding and our Barn became the place to hang out, with friends and family from the adjacent cottages coming to join us on several occasions. The Barn was so attractive that the wedding photographer chose it to stage the 'getting ready' photo shoot. The cottage location is peaceful and rural. but you do need sharp eyes to spot the signs from the main road.
"Quiet well appointed country retreat"
We were the only people staying and it was very quiet - super. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and well appointed. Night light in the bathroom was an unexpected plus. Jo was very pleasant and helpful as was Steve. A thing to point out is that there is a train-line running past the rear of the property, however these are infrequent and do not disturb the tranquillity, You will need a car if staying here as the location is fairly remote and the main roads are pretty manic, There’s plenty to offer within a 20 minute radius by car such as West Wittering beach, Chichester & marina, Tangmere museum and Fishbourne. The Crown and Anchor at Dell Quay Road, Apuldram is well worth a visit for lunch as is Mariners in Bosham Quay
"Fantastic"
We had a lovely week at the barn, we enjoyed the large green expanse on the farm. The barn comes with all amenities, was very well maintained, clean comfortable and welcoming. we'd definitely recommend it!
"very good apartment"
Good and came to stay and very friendly environment. My family enjoyed it and have a big playing ground.
"Perfect property, perfect setting!"
We stayed in The Barn for the week of Glorious Goodwood and we were not disappointed! The Barn is excellently presented and the location is fantastic. Jo is extremely helpful and accommodating and I cannot rate Flintstone Cottages highly enough. It is an ideal spot for Chichester and Goodwood and many other points of interest. I will be looking to stay here again in the future as it is superb value for money.
"Amazing Cottages - We rented them all for Wedding party"
My wedding party stayed at Flintstone Cottages in July 2015 The Cottages are immaculate and furnished well and the beds are really comfy! The Cottages are great if you have a large group because you are all together but in your individual cottages so you have so much space. The cottages are are spacious so we used the large cottage to set up our make up and hen stations for when we got ready. The Cottages are easy to find and just perfect really. I hope to go back again with friends for a weekend! The owners are lovely and so helpful. Perfect place for a large wedding party!
"Charming, peaceful, close to attractions and a great environment."
If you like self-catering accommodation in a quiet rural area, the Flintstone Farm Cottages are for you. Tucked away in a corner of Sussex, these cottages can't be faulted for decor, comfort and furnishing/fittings. Close enough to the supermarkets of Chichester and within easy driving distance of the tourist attractions of Tangmere (military aviation museum), Goodwood, Portsmouth and Brighton, the farm is a pleasant bolthole to get away from the hustle of traffic and the urban noise. Jo is a charming landlady and ready to help if you have any worries. Can't wait to get back.
"Lovely stay in a great part of the country"
Had a great few days stay at the Barn. Highlights: great facilities (particularly lovely shower and bathroom, nice kitchen, really great TV experience), really peaceful and relaxing environments, great location for lots of fun places. Trains were quite frequent but really not intrusive. It felt like a lovely break out in the country with good transport links. Our 2year old toddler did really well in the house although I could imagine it may be tricky for some very energetic little ones. We had great days out at Chichester, Brighton (an hour away), Littlehampton (ate at East Beach Cafe), Arundel, Drusillas Zoo (over an hour away but fun for kids) West Wittering beach and Shoreham by Sea beach. This was even in mid-November weather - house was really cosy, very warm and an array of mood lighting for every occasion. Will recommend to friends and hopefully return one day!
"Fantastic stay"
Fantastic apartment with some sensitive touches included in the renovation. The wooden beams across the lounge area and in the upper bedroom are very attractive. Fantastic location with lots to do. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. Very high standard with high quality finishes throughout.
"Lovely modern conversion with thoughtful touches. Would recommend."
I can’t fault this place. A modern (new) conversion decorated to a very high spec with lots of nice touches. The Barn shares the estate with several other holiday-lets as well as the owner’s property, but has been laid out in such a way that you have privacy despite being in a communal arrangement. The owners are very friendly and helpful and have given a lot of consideration into ensuring you have an enjoyable and comfortable stay. I thought the addition of fans in the bedrooms was a really nice touch during hot weather and the Wi-Fi and a smart internet-TV ensured the kids were happy! One thing to point out is that there is a train-line running past the rear of the property, however these are infrequent (as far as I noticed) and do not disturb the tranquillity of the place. You will really need a car if staying here as the location is fairly remote, however there’s plenty to offer within a 20minute radius by car (West Wittering beach, Arundel, Chichester & marina, Tangmere museum to name a few). Recommended!
